Different Leader

April 10, 2017

This message is based on Matthew 21: 1 - 17.

Want to get into serious trouble as a leader? Turn out to be something quite different from what the people thought you would be when you came to power.

In this message by Kellie McComb - a minister at First United in Waterloo - she looks at the expectations and the realities of Jesus' fateful arrival at Jerusalem on what became known as Palm Sunday.

As a leader of the occupied Jewish people, Jesus would turn out to be something vastly different from what the adoring crowds perceived to be the "King of the Jews". Turns out they weren't quite ready for a messenger of love and caring when they thought they were getting military overthrow of the Romans.

That's the kind of gap between expectations and reality that can go sideways in a hurry!

As always, thanks for tuning in.
