We just finished uploading “Lighting the Way” to First United’s YouTube Channel.

This message is based on Matthew 25: 1 - 13.

There was a chocolate bar commercial back in the late 70's that depicted Leonardo Da Vinci painting the Mona Lisa. At one point, in frustration, Da Vinci says to his model, "Mona, take a break!" which she does by having a bite of the featured chocolate bar. This act puts an enigmatic smile on her face which Da Vinci proceeds to capture on canvas for the ages. For anyone who has ever wondered what the Mona Lisa is smiling about, now you know.

In this message, Eva Mezo - a minister at First United in Waterloo - takes a look at the benefits and the necessity of slowing down and taking a break in relief of our relentless, consumer-driven world.

It's amazing what can happen when you stop and smell the roses - or take a bite of a chocolate bar.

As always, thanks for tuning in.
