CHOIR AUXILIARY - NOON HOUR CONCERTS AND LUNCHES
Seldom are we privy to a solo harp performance. Lori Gemmell, Principal harpist with our KWS thrilled us with her concert on Tuesday October 11th proven by the automatic standing ovation of the 104 audience members. Unfortunately, Larry Larson had to cancel because he wasn’t feeling well, much to his and our disappointment. However, I reminded him that he and Lori had performed in this series for 12 consecutive years.
On Tuesday October 18th, Guy Few and Stephanie Mara wowed us with their brilliant piano/trumpet duo, with the addition of 4-hands piano selections that were beyond description! The 115 audience members were thrilled that Matthew projected the concert onto the chancel screens…so this will continue. We are fortunate to have the participation of so many members of the WLU Faculty of Music which certainly raises the bar for exceptional performances.
On Tuesday October 25th, we welcome back Jung Tsai on violin, Rebecca Morton on cello and Tomoko Inui on piano, and on November 1st, the Laurier Singers under the direction of Gerard Yun.
Special thanks to our lunchroom volunteers under the leadership of Jean Hoffmann and Barb Blain: Judy Berthin, Jana Heemskerk, Shirley Schweitzer, Pauline Williams Mary Wybrow, as well as Shirley Irish our treasurer, Joe Hipperson our usher and Matthew Savage our sound/camera technician. Audrey Nichols and June Logan also volunteer with the lunches.
Lunch menu: (note that the dessert choices have changed)
Sandwiches on whole wheat - egg, ham, salmon, or tuna ($6 for whole, $3 for half)
Nut-free Desserts - butter tart, date square or nanaimo bar ($2 each)
Beverages - tea or coffee ($2)
Water - free

The concert schedule can be found on the church’s website under EVENTS while hard copies will be available in the Narthex. Pre-ordered lunches can be picked up in Hilliard Hall from 11:30 and the half hour concerts will start at 12:15.
