Posting for Church Administrator
First United Church, is located at 16 William St. W., in uptown Waterloo, Ontario at the corner of King and William Streets. We are seeking an enthusiastic team player who is also a multi-tasker, to serve as Church Administrator. This position requires someone with strong communication skills, a commitment to confidentiality and awareness of service in a church setting.

The Church Administrator is responsible for efficiently managing and carrying out administrative functions for First United Church, and providing support to the Minister, Director of Music, Church Board, other staff and volunteers.
The Church Administrator reports to the Ministry and Personnel Committee at First United Church,
Duties and Responsibilities
The Church Administrator at First United:
• Manages and maintains effective communication
• Ensures the accurate and timely preparation of the weekly order of service and update
• Processes financial matters to assist the work of the Treasurer.
• Coordinates and prepares reports for the Church
• Coordinates and keeps the Minister, Director of Music and staff informed on happenings in the church
• Schedules and coordinates the use of church facilities
• Monitors the work of the custodial staff
• Maintains church records
• Oversees the maintenance of office equipment and supplies
Hours of Work
32 hours per week, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Thursday. The office will be closed on Friday. One hour for lunch.
Compensation

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications required:
Post-secondary education in administrative and general bookkeeping or equivalent work experience
3+ years administrative and bookkeeping experience
Computer literacy including Microsoft, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Mailchimp and Adobe
Ability to work independently, multi-task, and problem solve
A commitment to confidentiality
Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
Ability to work collaboratively to create a team-oriented environment
Ability to generate respect and trust from team members and external constituencies Excellent communication and organizational skills
Desired additional qualifications:
3+ years experience as a church administrator and staff supervisor
Solid understanding and knowledge of best practices as they relate to church administration and general bookkeeping functions
Familiarity with programs and activities in a church setting
Working Conditions
The Church Administrator will work onsite in the church office which is on the second floor accessible by stairs.
Starting Date
We hope for a start in November when the current administrator will provide training on the functions of the position.
