The United Church 40 Days of Engagement on Anti-Racism begin on Wednesday, October 15th.  There are speakers and videos as part of this year’s program.
You are invited to join others to view the speakers series.  The session will be screened in the Parlour at First United (or moved to a larger space if appropriate).
Each Wednesday October 15 – November 26

We ask you to arrive by 5:40 pm.  Following the screening at 6 pm there will be an opportunity for discussion. Many of us appreciate the opportunity to debrief after a speaker.
While each topic might not seem as relative to you as other topics, we urge you to consider attending all seven sessions if possible so we all have an overview of the issues covered.  But if you cannot make all screenings, you are invited to join us for those you can attend.

Here are the titles for the speakers series:
Oct. 15        Fostering Anti-Racist Children’s Ministries
Oct. 22        Youth Speak: Challenging Racism in Housing
Oct. 29        Becoming an Intercultural Church: Why it Matters and How to Live it Out
Nov. 5    Exploring Indigenous Justice and Healing through Healing Fund Initiatives Supported by United Church Women
Nov. 12    Bible Study: Problematizing Mission and Decolonizing the Church
Nov. 19    Migrant, Diasporic and Racialized Church Planters
Nov. 26    A Place at the Table and Anti-Racist Ministries
