The stone garden

Outside the wall at the front of the sanctuary  you may have noticed the stone garden.  But have you looked at it in the past week?  After five work sessions a crew of church volunteers has reworked this area: taking off all of the stones, raking out the grasses/weeds that found a growing spot, removing the weakened plant barrier and then adding new weed barrier cloth and replacing all of the stones.  This was not only a back-breaking task for those who helped but also such a pleasure to see the result.  We owe much thanks to Jana and Rick Heemskerk for coordinating this task and for the many who lent their hands and muscles to the task.
