A Fond Farewell – Rose Ann
Whether we were part of a small group, Happy Hour Church, "Meeting Jesus for the First Time Again" sessions, a private conversation, a UCW meeting, on Zoom for her church services, receiving pastoral care, on the Telephoning Team..... this list goes on and on! Rose Ann was her genuine self-sharing her listening skills, sense of humour, knowledge, honesty, beliefs, creative skills and compassion. We became refreshed as you got to know us, celebrated us and at the same time challenged us to take risks and become the people God would have us be. Many thanks to you for the nudges, winks and prayers! Know that you will be missed by us. We wish you wonderful new miracles as you become a Grandma, spend time with family being close, get lots of chances to be creative, take life a little easier and live it up too! We know that you will continue to be a blessing! Lynne Blake-Dickson |
WORDS FROM THE MINISTER OF WORSHIP AND PASTORAL CAREFriday, May 13, 2022 Sunday, May 15 Worship at 10:30 AM ~ Online and in-person. (CLICK HERE) The theme of my last worship service with you is an exploration of my personal mission statement: "To Know Christ and Make Christ Known." This is the lens through which I filter my actions and values. It comes from the former tag line of the Lutheran church (ELCA) . . . "To Know Christ and Make Christ Known." During worship, members of the Praying with Scripture Group will share ways that they have come to know Christ through the time that we spent together in the weekly sharing of scripture. The Children's Story is In My Heart, A Book of Feelings by Jo Wink. I look forward to celebrating the transformative experience of worship together with you this Sunday. Red Dress Day
On May 5th The Healing of the Seven Nations reached out to churches and the broader community to share in observing Red Dress Da with a community walk to Kitchener City Hall and candlelight vigil at the Victoria Park. It was an opportunity to raise awareness and educate people about missing and murdered Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island. The day is also marked by the hanging of red dresses to represent the women who should be wearing them. Shirley Irish kindly shared these pictures that she took at the Vigil.
