Rev. Miriam Bowlby and Kris Tavella from Kindred Works joined us for worship and then for a Conversation That Matters in Hilliard Hall on Sunday, April 14 to talk about possible redevelopment of our church property.

As a next step in this process a date will be set  for a congregational meeting to decide if we want to continue to work with Kindred Works on redevelopment.

On Saturday, April 27^th a Multi Cultural Potluck will be held. Games at 1p.m. and potluck dinner at 5 p.m.  Everyone welcome!

This is part 2 of a pulpit exchange - Rev. Hoeun will be at Cedar Hills to mark the beginning of Asian Heritage Month in May just as Rev. Whitton joined us in celebrating Black History month.

First United Church has been awarded a $15,000 Ontario Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant.

These provincial grants aims to combat hate in Ontario and build stronger, safer and more inclusive communities. This grant is in response to a the recent rise in hate incidents in Ontario.

Kids Across the Regions is a fun, faith-filled weekend for children (in grades 4-8) from across the three regional councils of Antler River Watershed, Western Ontario Waterways and Horseshoe Falls of The United Church of Canada! APPLICATION DEADLINE: MAY 24th 

The Group is going on a tour of the Waterloo Hospice May 15th at 10:00 a.m. We will meet at the Church at 9:30 a.m. The tour will last for approximately 45 minutes. The knitting group is continuing to meet every Saturday morning at 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, until May 4th.

We welcome all who like to knit, crochet or would like to learn to join us.  We have fun and lots of conversation.

We are invited – men included, to a water-themed program on Tues, May 14 at 6:30 p.m at 91 Gruhn St, Kitchener..

The evening starting with dessert followed by devotions at 7:30 p.m. along with the main program “A Grand Fabrication Truth, Tales and Act of a Heritage River” with Guest Speaker Jax Rula.  Learn about Southern Ontario’s largest watershed in an entertaining way. There was no one listed for this position at the annual meeting in February. Rick Heemskerk is now past chair and still a member of the Board. We are in the happy position of having Kristin Snell as vice chair. Kristin will take over as Board chair in January 2025.
