So, YHWH Relented

So, YHWH Relented

Reflection from October 15, 2023

We should re-read the Exodus story amid the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Why it matters: Stories are the place that we reside in. What are the stories at the heart of what’s happening? What are the better stories in which we want to reside? Our hymns will not stop a bullet. Our reflection cannot defuse a bomb. Yet, we are told Moses’ intercession changed God’s mind. We believe God relented. Our hymns, prayers and reflections still matter because they can transform ourselves and our world eventually.
